CompliLearn provides content administrators with the ability to create courses that combine multimedia (videos, documents, links etc.) and formal assessment of learning.
Courses are a primary tool for providing your staff with training and they can be created from the My Teaching section of your CompliLearn platform.
There are three main steps to creating a course and they are:
- Create the course
- Create the modules
- Create the learning resources

Add a Learning Item to a Course
Change the Visibility Settings of a Course
Important note: Each of these step-by-step instructions start from the CompliLearn home page.
How to Create a Course
1. Click My Teaching in the top menu
2. Select the Resources tab
3. Click the Create button
4. Select Course from the drop-down menu
5. Enter a title, description and image for your course (the description and image are optional)
Please note: The recommended dimensions for an image for your course are 700 pixels wide by 300 pixels high

How to Add a Module to a Course
Modules are 'containers' for learning items, they are useful for separating content into themes or topics. When you first create a course, there will be an initial module within the course structure, with the place holder name: Module 1. Each module can have one or more learning items. To add a module to your course:
1. Click My Teaching in the top menu
2. Select the Resources tab
3. Locate the course that you want to add the module to
4. Click the button from within your course
5. Click the button in the top right of the course structure list
6. Select Module from the dropdown menu
7. Type the name of the module in the space provided
8. Click Enter or Return depending on your keyboard
9. Type a description in the course overview that appears on the right of your screen
10. Click Done next to the Edit module heading
11. Click in the top right of your screen
12. Optional: Repeat the above steps to add additional modules to your course

How to Add a Learning Item to a Course
1. Click My Teaching in the top menu
2. Select the Resources tab
3. Locate the course that you want to add the Learning Item to
4. Click the button from within your course
5. Click the + Add Learning button beneath the module that you want to add the learning item to
6. Select the type of Learning Item that you want to add from the dropdown menu (In this example we are selecting a Link.
7. Type the title of the link in the space provided.
8. Click Enter or Return depending on your keyboard
9. Click in the grey panel next to Action required
10. Optional: Click your cursor in the white panel and type a description for the link
11. Enter the URL in the space provided
12. Click Save & Exit in the top right

How to Add a Quiz to a Course
1. Click My Teaching in the top menu
2. Select the Resources tab
3. Locate the course that you want to add the module to
4. Click the button from within your course
5. Click the + Add Learning button beneath the module that you want to add the quiz to
6. Select Quiz from the dropdown menu
7. Type the title of the Quiz in the space provided.
8. Click Enter or Return depending on your keyboard
9. Click in the grey panel next to Action required
10. Click and drag the type of question you want to include in your quiz to the space labelled:
11. Hover your mouse over the question type in the right of the screen and click the Add button that appears.
12. Type the name of the question (your learners will not see this, it is just for your reference)
13. Type the question in the space provided
14. Type the correct response next to the Yes slider
15. Click +Add answer to create another response.
16. Ensure that the slider next to the correct answer/s is switched to Yes and the slider next to the incorrect answer/s is switched to No
17. Click Save & Exit in the top right

How to Configure Quiz Settings
1. Click My Teaching in the top menu
2. Select the Resources tab
3. Locate the course that you want to add the module to
4. Click the button from within your course
5. Hover your mouse over your quiz and click the pencil that appears
6. Select the Configuration tab
Note: There are a number of quiz settings to choose from, in this instance we will configure the quiz so that the learner must achieve 100% to pass.
7. Click the Pass/Fail options tab in the left menu
8. Type the Pass rate in the space provided. In this example we would type 100
Optional: You may also choose to type a Passed Message or a Summary message. These are messages that the learner will receive if they pass or if they fail.
9. Click Save & Exit in the top right of your screen.

How to Change the Visibility Settings of a Course
1. Click My Teaching in the top menu
2. Select the Resources tab
3. Locate the course that you want to add the module to
4. Click the button from within your course
5. Click the Visibility and access button in the top right
6. Click Add... next to the portal/email that you want to have visibility and access to your course
7. Click x in the left of the Visibility and Access screen
8. Click Publish in the top right of your screen
