Groups can be made 'restricted' by a Content administrator at any point.
Making a group restricted means members cannot 'leave' the group or 'join' the group.
Once you restrict a group, the group will be labelled 'Locked'.
If your groups have been shared with the portal, learners who are not members of the group will be able to search for the group and potentially join if it is not restricted.
To make a group restricted:
1) Access the group
2) Click 'Edit'
3) Select the 'restricted group' check-box
4) Select 'Save' in the top right hand corner

How do I control visibility of groups?
By selecting the 'visibility and access' button in the top right next to the save button, you can check who currently has access to the group.
You can select the x button to remove additional visibility and access for people who are not members of the group.
