All Modules include various landing pages that have bullet point lists of contents directing the user to the pages in that section. These pages are each titled 'Executive Summary' and can be located at the top level of each module.
Where an organisation has turned off the visibility of the pages linked within the Executive Summary pages, replaced pages with their own content, or added additional policies and procedures through the User-Generated Content function, these bullet point lists of contents can become inaccurate.
To remedy this issue, we have introduced new variables that will allow PolicyConnect Administrators to edit these bullet point lists.
Each module has its own corresponding variable that, if enabled, will replace the bullet point list for a given module with a context key.
Enabling Custom Executive Summary Lists
To locate these variables:
1. Expand the 'Welcome to CompliSpace' module in the left-hand navigation menu
2. Expand the 'Site and Content Contextualisation' heading
3. Expand the heading of the module you wish to enable this feature for
4. Expand the 'Variable Questions' heading
5. Click on the 'Landing Pages' Lists' page
On this page, the first item in the table will contain the name of the variable you must switch on to enable this feature.
You may have Variable Questions pages where you will need to scroll down the page to the 'List of Contents in This Module' section and here the first variable is the Contents variable for the Executive Summary.
Note: Read the question in the 'What to answer Yes/No' column in the variables list carefully as sometimes an answer of No in response to the question keeps the CompliSpace list of bullet points and sometimes removes it.
You must then enter your context library. Before doing so, it may be helpful to copy the existing bullet point list on the Executive Summary page to your clipboard, allowing you to paste it into the new context key for easier editing.
Once in the Context Library, search for the variable, select the pencil button under 'Actions' column and then enable it by editing the variable and setting its value to 'No or Yes'. Select Save.
Adding your New Table of Contents
After enabling the above variables, you must re-create the bullet point list. To do this:
1. Navigate to the Executive Summary page for a module where the relevant variable answer has produced a blank context key.
2. In administrator mode, edit the context key labelled 'Insert List of Contents'.
3. Enter your new bullet point list. For more information on adding links to context keys, please see our Inserting a Link Within a Page or Context Key guide.
