A Super User or someone with Administration settings and/or Business Unit Manager access, can import new data into a pre-created Register.
You will need to know the rules of the fields in the Register you are importing data against. For example, if there is a Single-Select field, there are a limited number of options for the answer to the field and the imported terminology has to exactly match what is in the template.
Here is an article listing data import rules. The article also specifies how to enter two answers to a field for Multi-Select fields.
Follow the steps below to import your data
1) Navigate to Import Registers and Forms.
- Administration (top right gear wheel) - 'Import', under the General section
- Select Registers and Forms
Download an Import Template

Select 'Download Import Template' and download a 'New Registers & Forms Import Template'
A list of available templates will be displayed. Select the correct template.
Assurance will download a CSV file automatically for you to fill with data.
Fill the CSV file with your records. Use one line for each Assurance record.
Importing your Register/Forms Records
When your data is ready to import, go to the Registers & Forms Import screen and click on Upload Data then select the appropriate template that you are uploading data to.
Assurance will first validate the import. If all the records are OK, then you can proceed to import them to Assurance. Click on the blue Import button to import the records. You may also abort the import by clicking on the yellow Abort button.
Once the import has been successfully completed, Assurance displays the details of the successfully imported records. You can view any successfully imported Assurance record by clicking on its Register Key displayed in the Imported column. You can also navigate to the Register in the top grey banner under 'Registers and Forms' and find your records in the Register.
Errors in the CSV file
If Assurance has discovered errors in the CSV file, it will let you know as per the screenshot below. If you get stuck, here is an article to support What to do if there are errors in my import file.
