Sometimes our clients organisations will opt to change their identity software solution for any number of reasons. One of the most common examples CompliSpace sees is Education clients shifting from on-premises ADFS servers to cloud based solutions, the most common being Microsoft Azure.
Can a client Self-Service the Migration?
Currently CompliSpace cannot provide a means for clients to self-service the configuration requirements for migrating their dependency on an old identity solution to one they are seeking to transition to.
What is the Typical Migration Timeframe?
Usually it should take no longer than 3 business days for this type of migration to be completed depending on capacity and complexity of client setup. For Enterprise Account clients this can be a much larger piece.
What does the Migration Process tend to look like?
The steps involved in this process are usually somewhat tailored to the identity provider a client is transitioning to but at high level the action steps tend to look like:
1. Exchange of key technical configuration information
2. Client and CompliSpace complete configuration steps
- the client will have configuration steps in their identity software
- CompliSpace will action configuration of our in-house IdP Tool
3. Client will provide the login for a test account that CompliSpace can review to ensure that when migrated, the service will not be interrupted as all the neccessary data is being sent. (Please also notify us if your email domain will change as a result of the migration).
4. If the Client has synced or populated their new identity software with their staff and required CompliSpace user/security groups then the dependency switch can be added to the work schedule.
5. Once actioned, your CompliSpace products that rely on your SSO service are now dependent on your new identity solution. Congratulations!
